How Does Jaw Botox Work for Face Slimming?
The same mechanism that makes Botox so great for smoothing fine lines and wrinkles also makes it highly effective for slimming a square jawline or a round face. Botox or Botulinum Neurotoxin temporarily blocks the nerve impulses to the muscle of the treatment area. As a result, this weakens the muscle’s ability to contract, When a Botox injection is placed in the masseter muscle, it works to relax the jaw and allows the muscle to soften. This causes the face to appear slimmer and a V-Shaped contour is revealed.

How Long Does it Take to Slim My Jawline?
The full jaw-reducing, facial softening effect of Botox injections on the masseter muscle will be seen in 2-8 weeks.
Is Botox Permanent? How Long Does Masseter Botox Last?
The treatment is not permanent and requires a maintainence regime. However, it is interesting to note that the Masseter muscle has fewer nerve endings than other areas where Botox is typically injected. What this means is that Botox in the jaw typically lasts longer than Botox for frown lines for Botox for brows. Typically results last 3-6 month; however, it’s best to schedule a Free Consultation treatment plan that’s right for your individual need and desired treatment goals.
Are there any side effects?
At MedSpa California during your procedure, you will be able to get back to your day with no swelling or bruising. In the first few days there may be a slight dull irritation when chewing, but this should resolve within a week. You should also avoid lying down in the first four hours after the procedure and avoid massaging the masseter muscles.
